Often in our lives, when we face challenges, we are naturally predisposed to ask “why”. In the context of work, often those challenges occur with other people: our boss, our employees, our coworkers, or our clients. And often our response is something akin to “Why did this happen to me? What is the reason for this?”
However, the book of Job illustrates that, actually, the “who” matters more than the “why”. Who God is, and who we are, are the most fundamental and important questions to ask. In this talk, we will draw from the book of Job to discuss why it is that “who” matters more than “why”, and how to apply this idea in a work setting for the glory of God and betterment of His creation.
