Tripp Parker

Principal Program Manager

Tripp Parker is a 2007 graduate of Duke University with a BSE in Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Philosophy. His undergraduate work focused on Artificial Intelligence and Philosophy of Mind. For the past 10 years he’s been at Microsoft and Amazon developing these technologies for everyday use in a variety of contexts. He holds five patents from his work there, and presently oversees strategic initiatives as manager of a Machine Learning team.

Tripp lives in Kirkland with his wife and two-year-old son, where they attend Doxa Church in Bellevue.

Speaker Topic:
As Christians we are called to work for the common good. This can be particularly challenging in the world of technology, where our creation can often accomplish great evil alongside great good. Artificial Intelligence is one such technology that has both great promise and great danger. Tripp Parker will talk about some of these challenges, how he sees his faith playing into this creative calling, and how this might apply more broadly to our calling to do work for the common good.
