Position Overview: Urban Impact is seeking a dedicated, thorough, and efficient bookkeeper to serve as
its primary accounting staff.
Reports to: Chief Operation Office
Employment Status: Part Time 20-25 hours a week (options for full time if combined with other
admin/operations tasks)
Compensation: $25-$28 and hour DOE, Benefits included
Key responsibilities:
Process and deposit income
Process donor, program, and contract income via multiple payment methods (Cash, Credit Card, ACH, Checks)
Reconcile donation income with donor management system (Raiser’s Edge)
Create appropriate accounting entries in QuickBooks
Complete bank deposits
Process payroll
Manage time reporting and payment process for employees and contractors
Perform all tax filings in a timely basis, including the W-2 and 1099 processes
Maintain accounting processes and records
Complete month-end close procedures
Issue invoices/bills to customers and process collections on a timely basis
Enter bills and maintain current accounts with Urban Impact’s vendors
Process checks
Accurately reconcile QuickBooks to bank statements and Urban Impact’s donor management system
Maintain accurate balance sheet accounts
Maintain accurate accounting records for organizations fiscally sponsored by Urban Impact
Maintain a comprehensive calendar of all regulatory and tax filings
Generate financial reports for Management and Board of Directors
Maintain an organized and efficient filing system
Audit and federal filings
Prepare schedules and reconciliations for the annual financial statement audit
Assist with the Form 990 filing and city and state annual reports
Desired Qualifications:
3+ years’ experience in non-profit accounting or bookkeeping for organizations with multiple
income streams and multiple programs. Also will consider qualified early career candidates.
Familiarity with fund accounting
Excellent skill with QuickBooks or comparable financial software
Excellent skill with Microsoft Excel
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Honesty, trustworthiness, and a clear sense of fair play
Competence relating with people of diverse ethnicities, cultures, backgrounds, and work styles
