Firm Overview
Palingen is a holding company built on the belief that deep investment in people creates great companies which generate exceptional financial results. Palingen acquires durable, cash-generative businesses and supports long-term growth strategies. With no set fund life, LP capital calls or forced exit timeline, Palingen is able to fund new acquisitions with portfolio cash flow and new share issuances. Our mission is to generate superior long-term returns by investing deeply in people, operations, and culture.

Role Summary
The Chief Financial & Administrative Officer will own finance, reporting, cash management, and operating controls across the Holding Company, the Management Company and affiliated entities. The role serves as the primary administrative and financial point of contact for shareholders and investors, manages the valuation and share-issuance processes, provides leadership support to portfolio companies as needed, and serves as Chief Compliance Officer, leading the firm’s SEC registration and regulatory processes. The role will also support transaction diligence, financing, and capital-structure decisions as the firm executes on acquisition opportunities. As Palingen scales, the role will provide strategic and operational insight into the architecture of the holding company, including new share issuances, repurchases and secondary transactions. As one of the firm’s early senior hires, this role will be eligible for equity compensation.

Key Responsibilities
Holding Company & Firm Finance: Establish and lead the finance function across all affiliated entities.
• Own Holding Company, Management Company and affiliated-entity accounting, monthly and quarterly reporting, budget-to-actual analysis, fee collections, expense management, accounts payable, payroll oversight, cash controls, and inter-entity financing.
• Lead the annual budgeting and FP&A process, including support for hiring, compensation, overhead, and other operating-resource decisions.
• Own the Holding Company financial model and oversee share issuances, valuation, audit, tax, lender, and quarterly close workflows, with support for any future secondary-market or borrowing activity.
• Support transaction diligence, financing workstreams, and capital-structure analysis at the deal and Holding Company level as a finance partner to the investment team.
Portfolio Company Finance Support: Manage visibility and decision support at the portfolio-company level, assuming a more active role when appropriate.
• Own relationships with portfolio company finance teams and establish reporting protocols to generate timely, board-ready visibility into performance, liquidity, leverage, and covenant matters.
• Provide guidance on budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and finance-process improvement; and support portfolio company financial leadership.
• Represent Palingen on portfolio company boards as needed.
Administrative Leadership & Compliance: Develop and implement operational procedures to support Palingen’s growth.
• Oversee key third-party providers, including fund administration, audit and tax, payroll and benefits, insurance, IT, and compliance support, with clear accountability for deadlines and deliverables.
• Build and maintain operating calendars, policies and procedures, and recurring workflows to support administrative, reporting, tax, audit, and compliance processes.
• Serve as Chief Compliance Officer, administering the firm’s compliance manual, code of ethics, compliance calendar, annual reviews, testing, training, and books-and-records discipline; oversee regulatory filings with support from outside counsel, and lead the firm’s SEC-registration readiness.
Shareholder Support: Create a consistent, professional experience for Palingen’s shareholders.
• Develop and own the shareholder communication plan and recurring reporting cadence, and serve as the primary point of contact for shareholder and investor inquiries on administrative and financial matters, including share issuances, taxes, statements, and confirmations.
• Support quality control of shareholder letters, reporting packages, diligence responses, and other external materials with financial or operational content.

Candidate Profile
This is a builder-operator role rather than a narrow technical finance seat. The strongest candidates will pair holding company or closely related finance experience with disciplined execution, sound judgment, and the ability to run recurring processes with minimal oversight.
• Experience in private funds, asset management, holding-company finance, controller or outsourced-CFO work, operations, or compliance, or in closely related leadership roles, with strong working knowledge of financial reporting, valuations, audits, tax coordination, and portfolio-company finance.
• A CPA or similarly technical finance background is strongly preferred, particularly when paired with a strategic mindset and comfort engaging in financing and capital-structure analysis.
• Mature judgment, reliability, initiative, and follow-through, with a demonstrated ability to own outcomes end to end.
• Comfort using modern analytical tools, including AI-enabled workflows, and alignment with Palingen’s principles: Integrity, Excellence, Intentionality, Service, and Balance.
• Willingness to work in person and build close working relationships with firm leadership in the greater Seattle (preferred) or Nashville areas.
