The Manufacturing Engineer position provides oversight and leadership to the coordination of Manufacturing Processes used in production of our imaging colorimeters, photometers, radiometers, and associated systems. This position reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to improve quality, reduce cost, and develop best practices within the production process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving quality, production yields and reducing costs
• Work with the production team to improve manufacturing efficiency, plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment/workspace layout
• Ability to learn, understand and help troubleshoot custom Radiant calibration software and hardware; exposure to software development tools is beneficial
• Support cross-functional initiatives to drive cost, schedule, and manufacturing capacity improvements
• Work cross functionally to define problem statements, develop metrics, and collect data
• Troubleshoot software solutions as they are integrated in utilizing our light measurement systems
• Software/Hardware test of Radiant custom calibration tools specific to gaining insights and making recommendations toward improving product manufacturability
• Drive internal and external partners to improve efficiency and scalability of current manufacturing processes
• Design of experiments to analyze and improve production processes
• Utilize lean methods such as 5S and kaizen to drive continuous improvement throughout the operations environment

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, or industrial engineering, etc.
• 1-2+ years of experience required.
• Experience with at least one of the following languages: C#, C++, C, and/or Python.
• Comfortable in a mathematical driven engineering environment.
• Excellent judgment in solving problems, with keen ability to identify problems in advance and propose/enact solutions.
• Ability to learning new technology, drive productivity and quality improvements through cross functional team collaboration.
• Able to adapt to flexible work assignments as new business is obtained or department requirements vary.
• Some experience with software development tools required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
